AI follow-up calls for electrical estimates that went quiet

EastSherman's AI Follow-Up Rep calls back electrical customers who gave recorded permission for an AI call, such as homeowners with an open panel upgrade, EV charger or generator estimate. It answers approved questions, hands code or safety questions to your team, and offers your booking link. It isn't an emergency line. It costs $197/month for 600 minutes.

It won't answer code, permit or load questions. Those come back to you as a request.

Why electrical estimates go quiet

Most electrical quotes don't stall because the homeowner said no. Something else gets in the way.

The panel upgrade waits on something else.

The homeowner is waiting on the utility, an EV delivery date, or a solar or remodel decision. Until that's settled, the panel quote sits.

Big quotes get compared.

Generator installs, rewires and service upgrades are big decisions. Homeowners get a second or third opinion and compare them. When they pick someone else, or decide to wait a season, nobody calls back to say no.

The question nobody asked.

The homeowner wondered about permits or timing, didn't want to call, and the estimate went cold.

None of these customers said no. Most just never heard from you again.

Answering the phone and following up are different jobs

The first call needs answering now. If the power's out, that homeowner needs a person, an answering service or an emergency electrician.

The follow-up call is a scheduled callback to someone who already asked you for an estimate. The job is to ask whether they're still considering the work, answer a simple question or two, and give them an easy next step.

The EastSherman AI Follow-Up Rep only does the second job. It doesn't answer inbound calls, and it doesn't dispatch anyone. Inbound answering is WestSherman's AI Receptionist, a separate sister product. For a side-by-side look, read AI receptionist vs AI follow-up rep.

What the AI Follow-Up Rep does for an electrical contractor

Calls only consented, reviewed customers from your own source.

You connect one reviewed source from your own business, such as your estimate request form. Each contact needs recorded permission for the AI call, and each one is reviewed before a call can go ahead. The queue is checked every five minutes, up to five jobs per run, during your approved calling windows. Timing isn't guaranteed. Outside your calling window, it waits. See how the callback queue works.

Answers only the questions you approved.

You decide what your rep can say. That might be which towns and areas you serve, or whether your shop handles the permit paperwork, but only if you've approved that answer. Anything else becomes a team request.

Hands technical questions to your licensed team.

Electrical work has a safety line, so set this up carefully. When you approve your answers, leave out code, permits beyond your approved answer, load, panel capacity and safety questions. Questions like "can my house handle a charger?" should be recorded as a request for your electrician to call back.

It doesn't give electrical advice, size jobs or quote prices.

Offers your booking link or records a request.

If the homeowner is ready for a site visit, your rep offers your booking link. If they'd rather talk to someone, it records a team request. The AI does not confirm a calendar booking, so your schedule stays in your hands.

You see every outcome.

Every call shows up in a 30-day private call history in your portal, and your team gets email notices.

Example: an EV charger install callback

Example call (illustration). Your rep uses your approved answers. Bracketed text is a placeholder for your own wording.

Maya (AI rep): Hi, this is Maya, an AI assistant calling for [Your Electrical Company]. You asked us for an estimate on an EV charger install a couple of weeks ago. Are you still considering it?

Homeowner: We are. The car comes next month. But I'm not sure our panel can handle a charger.

Maya: That's a good question, and it's one I can't answer. It needs one of our electricians. I'll record a request for them to call you back about it. Is this the best number?

Homeowner: Yes, this number's fine.

Maya: Got it. And when you're ready for the site visit, I can send you our booking link. Would you like that?

Homeowner: Sure.

Maya: Done. Thanks for your time.

The request lands in your portal, and your team gets an email notice. Your electrician answers the panel question, not the AI.

Who it fits, and who it doesn't

Fits Doesn't fit (yet)
Residential electricians with their own estimate form or enquiry list that records AI-call permission Shops that need 24/7 emergency answering or dispatch
Owners who'd rather follow up by phone than by text Teams that want texting or email drips to customers
One business, around 10 connected hours of calls a month Operations that need ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro or Jobber sync, or more minutes
Owners willing to approve answers and calling hours up front Anyone hoping to call purchased or cold lists

Getting permission right on your estimate request form

EastSherman only calls people who gave recorded permission for the configured AI call, and every contact is reviewed. A quote or past purchase alone is not consent. Purchased cold lists are excluded.

A practical suggestion, not legal advice: put clear, separate AI-call permission language on the estimate request form where homeowners ask you for a quote. Don't bury it in your terms.

Why the care? The FCC treats AI-generated voices as "artificial or prerecorded voice" under the TCPA (FCC Declaratory Ruling FCC-24-17). That's why the review step exists. Talk to your own attorney about your forms.

You also choose your calling hours. As general context, federal rules bar telephone solicitations to homes before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m. in the customer's local time (47 CFR 64.1200).

What it costs

$197/month pricing covers one business with 600 connected minutes (10 hours) a month. That could cover 100 calls averaging six minutes; actual counts depend on duration. Practice calls count.

Yearly is $1,967 billed upfront, which works out to $163.92/month. Save $397. No setup fee.

There are no overage charges and no rollover. You get alerts at 80%, 90% and 100% of your minutes. Electricians pay the same as everyone else.
